The Studio Pro Lineage, Refined

The Studio Signature is the latest iteration of Two-Rock’s single-channel 35-watt amplifiers, building on the original Studio Pro 35 with modernized construction and a few new tricks. It’s pitched squarely as a clean, 6L6-powered pedal platform—an amp meant to get out of the way and let your board do the heavy lifting.

The headline feature is a 3-position Gain Structure Switch, which reshapes the preamp into three distinct personalities from a single channel, backed by Bright, Mid, and Deep toggles for further shaping. A tube-driven analog spring reverb with independent send and return rounds out the feature set, alongside a passive effects loop and 4, 8, and 16-ohm speaker outputs. It’s available as either a 26-lb head or a 42-lb combo, in silver or black anodized chassis with a black bronco cabinet (a variety of custom colours are also available, as pictured here).

I opted for the lightweight head and couldn’t be happier. This replaced my trusty Deluxe Reverb, which, even at just over 40 lbs, was a pain to carry. For a light load I pair the head with the matching small 1x12 open-back cab, weighing around 30 lbs (the sound is tight and fantastic). However, paired with the large 1x12 open-back cab, around 36 lbs, the amp opens up and sounds as huge as the biggest Fenders.

My Fender journey included a Champ (too small), a Princeton (still too small), a Deluxe Reverb (missing a full tone stack / bright switch / a bit heavy), a Super Reverb (way too big/heavy), and a Twin Reverb (also way too big/heavy).

The Studio Signature hits the sweet spot for sound, weight, and flexibility, and is a bit cheaper than its bigger brothers with little sacrifice. As a bonus it takes fuzz much better than my Deluxe Reverb, and is far quieter—no idle hiss, and the master volume works perfectly for playing at home or managing stage volume.
